The first line of the book came surprisingly easily to me. The first event in which the main character will be introduced quickly formed in my imagination. The book begins with the main character's birthday celebration. He is in a warm familiar setting, at home with his family, and has no idea that his whole world is about to be turned upside down.

According to my notes, I started writing in May 2023. In October 2023, I finished the last chapter and gave the book to my sister, my most trusted critic, to review. This entailed a lot of rewriting, rewriting episodes that didn't come out well enough, and completely rewriting the last chapters.

At this point, I'm preparing to submit the book to English translation so I can start contacting American literary agencies. I wrote the book in my native language, Russian, but I decided to go for the American market first.
